“House edge” can answer three different questions in craps.
Multi-roll wagers may sit through several neutral rolls. A useful comparison needs to state whether cost is measured per bet made, per resolved bet, or per roll.

Why this matters
A Place bet can remain active while totals unrelated to the bet are rolled. Treating every neutral roll as a push produces a different percentage than conditioning only on rolls that settle the wager. Neither is automatically dishonest; the denominator must be labeled.

Reference tables will prefer the conventional per-bet-made figure for cross-game comparisons, while craps-specific analysis may also show per-resolution and per-roll figures where they answer a useful reader question.
No denominator switching
We will not make one bet look better by quoting its per-roll edge beside another bet’s per-resolved edge.
