Banker
One of the two hands in baccarat; under common rules it wins slightly more often than Player and commonly pays less than even money after commission.
House edge
The expected casino advantage expressed relative to a defined wager measure.
Expected value (EV)
The probability-weighted average result of all modeled outcomes.
Natural
In baccarat, an initial two-card total of 8 or 9.
Position
Where a poker player acts relative to the dealer button and other players.
Rake
A fee taken by a poker room from eligible pots or through an equivalent time/entry fee structure.
Tie
In baccarat, an outcome where Player and Banker finish with equal totals. Player/Banker main wagers typically push.
Variance
The spread of possible results around an average expectation.
